Yu Yi is vivid, sculptural and a little unexpected: crystal-clear Lucite hand carved around a beautiful 3 - 4ct certified Type A Fei Cui jade, with a hidden mirror-polished platinum backing beneath the stone.

Yu Yi 如意 takes its name from a Cantonese expression associated with wishes fulfilled and things going as you hope: an auspicious wish for good fortune, happiness and for life to unfold as you wish.

I carve every Yu Yi individually by hand, shaping and polishing the Lucite around its particular piece of Fei Cui. Each jade is selected individually for its colour, translucency and character, so the stone itself helps determine the proportions and final shape of the ring.

Hidden beneath the jade is a custom-made, highly polished platinum backing. Its mirror-like surface reflects light back through the translucent Fei Cui, giving the stone a beautiful luminosity and glow.

No two pieces of natural jade are exactly alike and no two Yu Yi rings are carved exactly alike. Your ring will be created around its own individually selected 3 - 4ct Type A Fei Cui.

It's part fine jade, part sculpture and definitely not your traditional jade ring.

Fei Cui pricing varies depending on colour, translucency, shape and overall quality. Larger or exceptional stones are available on request.

Payment

Fei Cui commissions require a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due upon completion. For exceptional or higher-value jade sourced specifically for your ring, the initial deposit may vary.
