An extraordinary 8.15 carat natural Old European Cut diamond, GIA certified and measuring an impressive 13.3mm in diameter.

The diamond features exceptional old-world faceting, with beautifully broad facets, a distinctive open culet and spectacular flashes of fire. Like many Old European Cut diamonds, it faces up considerably whiter than its GIA N colour grade might suggest, with subtle warmth that becomes more apparent when viewed from the side.

Unlike modern brilliant cuts, Old European Cut diamonds were fashioned with different proportions and larger facets, producing a distinctive pattern of light and contrast. No two are quite alike, and this particular diamond is an exceptional example.

The Setting

Designed and handcrafted in Hong Kong, the ring combines platinum and 18K yellow gold in an elegant, timeless design.

The diamond is secured by four sets of delicate triple platinum prongs, positioned at the north, south, east and west. The open platinum setting allows the diamond's beautiful faceting to remain visible from every angle.

Sculptural platinum shoulders sweep down from the diamond, transitioning seamlessly into a refined triple-band 18K yellow gold shank. The two metals complement one another beautifully, with platinum enhancing the diamond's face-up brightness and yellow gold bringing warmth to the overall design.

Despite its substantial 8.15 carat centre, the setting remains elegant and beautifully proportioned.

Diamond Age & Condition

This is an older, previously owned Old European Cut diamond, rather than a newly cut stone. While its exact age cannot be verified, its cutting style and characteristics are consistent with traditional Old European diamond cutting.

As expected of a diamond with a history, there are minor chips along the girdle and light abrasions to some facet edges. These are visible under magnification but do not detract from the diamond's exceptional faceting, brilliance or overall beauty.

The diamond is recently GIA certified as an Old European Brilliant and has been set into a newly crafted platinum and 18K yellow gold ring.
